Never - I aim for maximum re-sale price.

Once or twice over my entire climbing career.

I rest on gear occasionally but have never fallen.

Rarely, however I have taken a fall onto trad gear

Good point, In this case after looking at the lobes there where scratches on only the very tips (like 2mm from the end), If I had left the bigger cam in I'm pretty sure it would have held (I did have my feet 2m above it when I went....) It was granite rock and a reasonable crack if I'd have used the right piece.
