We did the same when our kids were little. Often my wife used to feed between climbs. Another advantage of breast feeding, no bottles and sterilizing to worry about. We used to carry a portacot in to put the kids in. When they got bigger they had harnesses and we would use a 5m length of rope to attach them to a tree. Sure climbing is restricted to single pitch stuff that is easy to get off and we usually climbed with three.

The kids are 8 and 10 now and have been climbing regularly for their whole lives.
