Are you sure they are injecting lactase? Lactate maybe?

Lactase is the enzyme that converts lactose (from milk etc) to simple sugars (glucose,galactose). It doesn't have anything to do with removal of lactic acid (lactate), nor to my knowledge can it create lactic acid.
