climbing near Summerday we came across a number of scouts involved in a rescue course.
They had three climbers simulating a lead fall with the belayer having to "safely" get them down. In two out of the three cases the leader was hanging off ONE (1) piece and the belayer fixed the belay to something "solid" with ONE (1) piece (it was good to see that they were being consistent).
We made a number of comments to the scout "leaders" along the lines of backing up at both end being a good idea. We were ignored. Our response was to move elsewhere.
