Standing on top of Trapeze, a guy next to me set up the abseil descent and must have only put one of
the double ropes through his belay device. He stepped over the edge and down he went. Luckily he
realised what was happening and grabbed a jug to arrest his fall. Sheepishly he climbed back over the
top again.
A Scout leader on Back Wall at Summer Day Valley (why do I always cringe when I think of this). Led
the grade 10. As he lent out to heave his gut over the top all his pieces fell out. He then set up a top rope
so the troop could follow. I moved elsewhere. |
