I don’t understand how anyone could care if gym climbs are “undergraded” or “overgraded”. I don’t think you should ever go outside thinking you’re going to be competent at a certain level just because you can do that "grade” in the gym, so I don’t see why it should matter. It is of course nice to have some gauge of the relative difficulty of the routes - to help you target your training – but maybe it would be better if the Ewbank system wasn’t used. If it is used then just take them w a big grain of salt.

Gee, I don’t know, maybe, but I thought the route setting for the 1991 Nationals was spot on! Hmmm… must be getting old…

Good to hear there are still some willing to go to the huge effort to host lead comps here in Australia. I thought most had given here because they are too much effort to host.
