If I was somehow forced to give up the bustling metropolis of mighty Mt Vic, right in the heart of the ultra-expansive Bluies, for any major city worldwide, then I reckon Barcelona could be a pretty top choice. It’s a pretty mad and interesting city - and then you have the 2000+ routes at Montserrat just outside of the city, and great crags like Siurana and Montsant within a few hours drive, Terradets and Rodellar not too much further, and Riglos is only about four hours away. In fact, you have dozens of really good areas within just a few hours drive. And there’s all the crags of Sth France nearby for longer road trips. Also Majorca is just a short Easyjet ride away.
If potential extradition back to Oz is a concern then this could be the place for you!
Polishing of limestone is a problem in some popular, accessible and older areas in Europe (try Buoux!), but I reckon the biggest problem in these areas is the crime and especially the high chances of getting your car broken into. |
