Saw a biner on a quickdraw break on the weekend. I've seen bolts go, slings break and plenty of other stupid things, bu this is the first and hopefully only time seeing this.

Fortunately the climber was fine (although he did hyper-extend his back as the quickdraw snapping sent him well backwards).

The quickdraw was on a 90 degree bolt hanger, placed properly from behind and looked shut from the ground (the climber also thinks it was). The climber fell diagonally from 2 feet up and left of it. Ended in a 40ish foot fall in a not so healthy position.

Ropes and harnesses were the only two things I was taught that if looked after, inspected and used correctly you can always trust them. Now I know why quickdraws were not on the list!

The question now is, to use the rest of his rack of the same quickdraws or not?
