No, but watching a deckout can have a profound influence on your climbing. My first climbing ever was
when I went to Arapiles on a course with Barry Young. We were walking past The Plaque to do my first
climb when a young man fell off Dramp above the roof, pulled every piece of gear, and ended up rolling
down the "slab" at the bottom. Survived but broke all wrists and ankles. I have never trusted natural gear
in 20+ years of climbing since. Never had many falls on natural gear either. Funny that. |
