Actually, this morbid fantasy was borne of a real live story from the Mill (How I miss thee, let me count the ways): Ant (have you still got your half a dozen monster dreadlocks?) was belaying some kid, and got one of his waist length dreads stuck in the belay device whilst lowering said dude. With no one else to help, and nothing but air for this kid to grab, I'm told the hair was torn out, 'lock stock in the smoking double barrel belay plate. Sime 'Arnie' told me this one. Would any witness or any of the innocent & guilty parties like to comment?
