I find that young kids climb better if they are belayed from the top. They are then climbing towards their
parent rather than away from them. The belaying parent can also be seen chewing on lollies as an
incentive (this is a new branch of science called psychlollygy!). Belaying from the top requires a second
adult on the ground to check knots and harnesses, etc. |
