Below: A map of the area surrounding Mt Beckworth, not to be confused with the nearby town by the same name. Access is via the little burg of Clunes, which can be approached from a number of directions. It's about half an hour north of Ballarat on the road to Maryborough. The mountain (more of a hill), is clearly visible from Clunes, though the path in is not as obvious. For Loddon River climbing get to the small town of Glenlyon (near Daylesford) in North Western Victoria. Drive north 2.7km and turn into Holcombe Road. 500m along this road turn left into the dirt Sewells Road. Follow this small rutted road for about 1.5km through a gate to an open grassy area with a big tree on the left. Walk down from this tree and you will see the top of the west side of the gorge below.
