@JMK - sorry to hear it needs surgery. Remembered your post from the earlier thread on wrist injury in Tonsai a little while back. Good luck with the op. Hope you're back out there soon.

nb - If you haven't already done so, have a talk to the surgeon (or your physio/osteo/manual therapy practitioner - sometimes they're easier to get hold of) about whether there's any 'pre-op' work (aka 'pre-hab') you can do before they operate - ie stretches, myofascial release work etc.

Depending on the situation (structures involved/operative approach etc), sometimes ensuring that the tissues (ie fascia etc) are moving well before they cut you open can help speed up the recovery (ie less trauma from the surgery) and may give you a better result too. Just a thought.

Cheers!

Elaine.

1. Really really screwed lower back
2. Bung left wrist from 4 x breaks
3. Lots of clicks and pops in the back and shoulders
4. Tendonitis in fingers and bicep, which has now gone away since I stopped climbing due to 1 and 2, though I still visit chockstone for laughs.

A while ago I had a fall aiding and I somehow twanged my ring finger. For more than six months now my ring is on my right hand. Mrs thinks it's broken.

You're getting slower. That was six weeks. Wendy got it almost immediately.

No. I had reasonable idea, I just attributed you more credence than you obviously deserve as I thought you would be too busy to waste time on chocky

Hey. Cut me some slack. This is all I've got for social interaction here. No ones talking to me via email, facebook or twatter.

Delusionally, I visualize myself moving smoothly across the rock, unfazed by injury, run-outs or crazy lizards. The reality is I move like a toddler, hurt myself, cry and then freak out when I find Godzilla hiding in a crack waiting to kill me.

Climbing hurts mentally and physically.
