I was also wondering about this. I was on BBB across the valley from the rescue, they had two helicopters out for it.

I was also wondering about this: On the way to pick up Hargs for the aid-climbing extravaganza, I was already in a clusterfck on the Pacific Highway across from Fox Valley where a large tree had fallen over. Rescue services were there; and two helicopters were out for it.

Why assume it was a climbing accident?
Base jumper with a broken ankle winched out by CareFlight.

Judging from what I've seen on YouTube lately (in connection with Hanging Rock), I've very unsurprised by this.

It could have been a climbing base jumper perhaps.

Because i was told by paramedic who had been up there, told me they had been at a job involving a climbing accident in Blackheath. I wasn't told anything else :-)
