Failure of 1st bolt (circumstances unclear) placed in overhanging rock
Glue in machine bolt recovered with sleeve of glue, large rock scar visible at previous location.

That looks more like rock failure than bolt or glue failure.

I agree, certainly looks like rock failure, the glue and rock bond still looks like its there in the picture of the bolt.,,,just the rest of the rock disintegrated around it.

Thats a short one, looks like 70mm , too short. Not that the bolt failed.

Bad placement, in an arete, should be >20cm from any edge.

North Avalon headland had bolts in it a long way further than that from anything that looked suss - think in metres! … and look what happened to it.
Talk about exfoliation, the whole blerrie lot fell down!
