thanks Phil. groovy extension actually. I have some photos of Ben on the snake flake direct extension if anyone's interested... (the mods in their wisdom didn't deem them worthy of pic of the week!)
the vid is good to see ... but wanking on a bit when it says "ground up" is the "true taipan style". Apart from a few trad routes and 1 or 2 early bash-ups, almost everything on taipan has been rap bolted.

But not to listen to! No offence to anyone who was there, but I reckon the "come on" record may well have been broken in that clip!

you should get up to Taipan more often - most days up there it's like a Lleyton Hewitt impersonator's convention

Adam Ondra makes the 2nd ascent of Huber's Open Air after a decade unrepeated. On the last crux section he skips a couple of clips just to make it a little more interesting! Grade 36 at age 17, not bad!

why TF does she have a dog at the gallery? maybe you can do it at some blueys crags but that doesn't make it ok here. it's a bloody national park. Dogs are NOT ALLOWED in the grampians

we already have enough access issues without this sort of blatant stupidity
don't stuff it for the rest of us!

Agreed Wilby! Ive been at the campground when that dog was there, not only does it risk acess to the area for everyone else, but the little rat barked all night!

Over-reactions perhaps?
I am not supporting or defending the action you are commenting on, but (at risk of thread hijack), would think that personal responsibility /accountability would apply in this/these case/s.
Would not PV simply fine the offender rather than condemn/banish all climbers for the action/s of one?
If it was a bushwalker with a dog would they ban all bushwalker access?
Feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

Post edit:
(response to WM reply below)
Perhaps start another thread and copy and paste from here, or cross-link it back to here?
Tarnished reputation is one thing. The appropriate specific action taken by authorities is another?

you're dead wrong M9 - e.g. it only took one person to crap near the creek at the Ravine and the entire climbing community has been tarnished on that issue (this is fact, not speculation)
Yes there are "grey" areas of climbing behaviour (eg bolts, tracks, chalk) which could also affect access but which are more or less (depending on your point of view) inherent to the activity itself. But dogs and toilet habits are black and white. Breaking these rules is ***completely unnecessary*** to achieve a good day of climbing. so why the hell would you?
I might add the dog isn't allowed at the campground either.
I hope Jarmila is not taking this personally (if shes reading) as I am trying to criticise the act not the person but it needs to be said IMO.
mods: feel free to shift this hijack to another thread if you like

In December 2008, climbers Alex and Thomas Huber travelled to Antarctica to climb Ulvetanna, one of the most beautiful and striking mountains in the world.

The beards are better than those leather pants in Centre of the Universe, Tomas cracked me up - looks so serious the whole time. The narration sounds destined for US cable "with his bare hands...his life suspended on just 2cm of metal...the extreme climbers..." Awesome landscape, thanks for putting up the link Dalai.
Chatted with Siegrist, Weber & Senf on a terrace just outside of Interlaken yesterday, they've just got back from another big one. They lead a good life.

Mmmm. It sounds like they not the only ones leading the good life. Dropped names and location in one posting.
