Ohhh, and BTW, there is a book being written about this era by someone who spent a lot of time there - whether it ever gets finished is another question.

>>>there is a book being written about this era ...

COOOOOL...but I betcha it will only be Ausralian-centric .,..

...one of the many bits u lot still don't get ...is that Kim Carrigan was not only PART OF the new wave in Australia but also APART FROM the new wave in Australia .....

....no other Australian climber was going O/S and climbing amongst the WORLD climbing scenes the way Kim did...

dalia...mate ...yor the only one whose sayin the climb ends at the anchors ...THATS WHERE LORD OF THE RINGS & THELORD OF THE RINGS FINISH...

...SERIOUS YOUNG LIZARDS FINISHES ON THE SLAB ..and ya dreamin if ya think the face below is grade 29 and by doing the grade 25 slab ...it all adds up to 31... BS !!!

....ITS 31 ONTO THE SLAB ...theres not a summit at the chains .... SYL was one of the first HARD BOLTED SPORT CLIMBS IN THE WORLD ...get onto the slab ...jump ...falll in the rain ... and lower off the bolts ...THAT'S SPORT CLIMBING...

SYL IS TOTALLY HISTORICALLY IMPORTANT TO ACKNOWLEDGE...

>>Grading takes the following into consideration. Technical difficulty,...

YEP THATS RIGHT JOHNNY ...SYL IS IS IS 31 ONTO THE SLAB .....lord of the rings is NOT 31 because you climbed the grade 25 slab to the top ...

damo ...while ya lurkin ...ur the expert on the new wave in oz...JUST WHO WERE THEY ...

Kim was the leader of the new wave...IN AUSTRALIA ...MM mostly did alpine O/S and Claw did one O/S trip between 1975and 2000 ...which resulted in his claim 2 fame introducing lycra to America...

Had KC, MM and Claw ALL been going rock climbing O/S like Kim did ...what an amazing impact those 3 wooda made together ...

I'm with ima, cos I climbed a bunch of v12s and maybe v13, Bullen climbed v15 on his reckoning.

Unless specified in the route description like Raindogs at Malham Cove, grabbing the chain nullifies the ascent. Falling off the route before the top also nullifies the ascent...

Though you are starting to sway me to change my view. Since falling before the top counts as an ascent, how about just doing all the moves on a route? Then I can claim Lord of the Rings too. ;-)

Ima seeing where you're going with the you-vid example bro.
You're telling us the strange and exciting KC experience in your own (or plagiarised) words, but trouble is, it's only coming across as half a lozenge...
The other half (from the source), has alienated us by disappearing into thin air.
