Hey nmonteith. Dont know you but thanks for passing on second hand bullshit about me in a internet forum. It helps keep sheepish people away from me. As for spraying or engaging in "hoopla" at the campground after sending a climb: You see I have alot of fun climbing. I have a lot of fun in general. In fact I use just about any reason to have a party and have fun. Its called not being a boring asshole. Maybe you should try it sometime.
Ive updated the attack at the pines.

Crazy john, not everyone wants to party with you. The rest of us are content to have a few bevvies and a good night sleep. You, however, seem to want to come into a camp at 11pm when we are sleeping and selfishly start a party. Try using the picnic shelter, Mitre rock or tasmania to celebrate.

Basic rule on life is do whatever you want to do providing it doesn't affect others in a negative way. From all accounts you've set it upon yourself to break this rule at every opportunity. Most people just think you're an ego maniac with a serious drinking problem.

Hang off on "rules". There are no rules, just status quo.

There was a really talented English climber in the '70s, whose name escapes me just at the moment, who did amazing things until he got on the piss in a big way. His downward spiral ended when friends (or ex-friends) found his body at the bottom of a cliff one morning. Obviously, he wasn't actually having that much fun with all his partying on after all.

At this rate there's going to be a brawl here as well. And despite all this banter no one
has actually said what happened at the pines!

If they're the group banging out the sing along in the middle of the pines then I thought they were quite funny but I sleep like a log. I couldn't get the Bob Brown hippy song out of my head for days.

Might have been a different group unless they're still there. They were up when i was 2
weeks ago. That song was rather entertaining too!

I am pretty sure i would find after spending 5 minutes with you that you are an obnoxious a...hole. However your account of the attack in your blog is very funny. A little Hunter S Thompson like, he had his dependecy issues too.
Its interesting how accepting and unaccepting the climbing tribe can be. Its ok to be a Dread locked clone or draw attention to yourself by wearing 2 haircuts on one head like that guy in the bouldering Dvds but dont be loud and funny and hammered.
I really think that one day we will find crazyjohn in the pines quietly swinging from one. But hey how much fun is a Manic Depressive until then!!!
And CJ this link might help www.blackdoginstitute.org.au/

John Syrett. He severely damaged a hand by cutting it on broken glass (I think at a drunken party) and could no longer climb as he used to.

Well done Kieran. If you hadn't come up with that it would have taken me til 3AM to get it.
Yeah, I think the story was that he had a bit of a drinking problem, then buggered his hand while pissed, and the combination of pain and not being able to climb like he used to turned the drinking problem into a terminal one.
Sounds like certain people would do well to listen to the wake up call on this thread so they can hang around long enough to discover the joys of being grizzled middle aged and old climbers.

Been a while since we had one of these on chockstone, from memory the last one was some parkour enthuiast taking on a group of chockstoners.
However it does make an afternoon of marking year seven geography homework a bit more interesting

But the parkour one was more fun though
