Hmm I shal try the ways of head firstness. At the moment its full of stuff to get it into a nice round shape.

Here is another Chockstone member (Maxots) who tried the headfirstness thing before working out it goes on your back till hauling on the climb...

The portion against your lower back when you are wearing it as a pack, contains the belay seat of satisfaction glasshopper.

Thought so, but those plastic buckles dont seem super strong...

And if they don't look super strong on the ground, imagine how they're gonna seem *up there*.

Mine is an older model. Its belay seat has no buckles.
That same pocket is for storing the shoulder straps/waistloop while hauling...

Hmm I think iv got the right bit. So there is the big pocket where you stuff the shoulder straps and then the hip harness comes off, i thought the hip harness bit was the belay seat. Its seems the perfect sorta shape and nothing else comes off or folds out or anything....

belays seats merely need to take body weight. eg:

haha funny stuff. Might have to build a quarter pipe on Big Grassy, you could then drop into it from near the roof ? These buckles would still be sus for bodyweight i think.

It sounds like you got short-changed. The waistloop-hipbelt is NOT the belay seat.
The belay seat is a bosuns chair (rectangle) with two loops (one each end), to clip into a belay. It is normally stored in that same compartment when using the haulbag as a backpack, to provide extra padding.
If it wasn't included, I'd be contacting whoever you got it off, if I was you.
All this conversation should be on the gearlust thread...

It appears so :( I will see what i can do. But its no biggy, I can whip up something fairly quick. plus when i have enough gear to ditch Michael and go Solo (heheheh's) there wont be a heap of sitting down going on ;)

Be sure to tighten the skateboard trucks (axles) up if you are tieing off to them...
@ Bl@ke;
Space begets weight, but if you have a full haulbag you can always sit on top of it at belays...

You shouldn't need to girth hitch a daisy to it, but if you do, attach it to the longer strap so that you can still open it easily while it is hanging off a belay.
The only time I have found a daisy useful with the bag, is to attach internally to it, to clip items off too, while depacking it to obtain other items stored lower in the bag; though there is an extra loop on the internal pocket to assist this process...
Ideally for Ozy both your partners gear and yours should fit in one haulbag, plus maybe a small daypack for water, snacks, etc.

Yup - both of those. Piece of piss! You should try coming to NSW to try some real jamming, jambing is childs play compared.
