Damo --- I like your VERY short-story(i.e. :PS. South Boulee) --- sounz likeya had an excellent time ridingindasweetspot...

--------------------------------------------------------
Now, THIS is the pic I was originally referring to --- hope ya don't mind TOO much, Onsight...--- managed to work-out how to do it ' properly ' ,this time --- thanx for the techno-encouragement, Dalai ! ...
I have two ' issues ' with this :
1) It's a bit clearer in the Rock-mag photo, but the chalked-hold above the first runner (with long sling ) looks a bit sus... ; as Mikl has pointed out in other threads , there's a fine line between cleaning/preparing a route and snapping-off relatively secure flakes to create a more enduring/longer-term hold...
2) It's an absolute moral-outrage that such a nice young lady should be portayed as nothing more than a sub-servient belay-slave,enduring insufferable freezing/sweat-shop conditions in a dominating-over-bearing-patriarchial-world, with he-man Steve gleefully embracing the father-of-all phallic-symbols !! --- shame, oh cruel world, SHAME !!!

HOWEVER---This has got to be one of THE greatest climbing-photos ever shot in Australia --- Well done Simey ! --- Where was the other Simey ? : " Aw guys, I'll just take the boat around the corner a bit cos I want to play with my wedding, I MEAN !!!, fishing tackle --- hehe..."

Don't mind at all Hex. I’d have posted it for you but I've been overseas for the last few weeks. I'm happy for any of my photos to be used on this site (no copyright issues) provided they aren't doctored – and I reserve the right to require the photos deleted if I’m not happy with how they’ve been used. Incidentally, in future why don’t you just right-click on the pic, save to your hard-drive, and post to the forum from there? I don’t mind you doing that.
Now, as to these extraordinary alligations you’ve raised:
1) You’re a stirrer Hex – as we’ve come to expect - “and that’s why we luuuve you…”
2) It’s worse than you think Hex. When I look at that photo closely I can see Jane doesn't look very happy at all... and that's because a few moments before she'd been drenched by a massive wave. Here's what happened… Pic one shows Steve and Jane on the belay - Steve had just come down after dogging the crux. Pic two shows Steve just starting up again for the (luckily successful) red-point, and BAMO, Jane gets swamped - and I mean swamped - by the wave.
Things just got worse after that. So if Steve had dallied for a few moments longer then maybe the send wouldn’t have happened that day – or that trip. Jane is definitely the unsung hero here. You’re right Hex, it’s an outrage!!! But what happened afterwards on the half-way ledge just leaves me speechless… I mean, just look at her feet…
>HOWEVER---This has got to be one of THE greatest climbing-photos ever

Cheers Hex.

Ah, well, yes, have to spill the beans on that one too I’m afraid. Simey was just around the corner – saving himself for his infamous send. He wasn’t fishing Hex…
Thought that photo might come in handy one day… ;-)

It took me 15 minutes to get through, and i got stuck in the middle. To get myself through, i left bits of my knee, chest and back on bits of the rock and ended up squeezing out the small rabbit size hole at the other end, bleeding. I hadn't been that scared for quite some time. But all is good, i've done it now and don't have to ever do it again!!

How can I fight
These minutes are long
Tonight these streets echo like
A lover's song
All through the night
I've walked on the dark side of town
Sleep is just promises
Some vague reminder of life in your arms
I dream of you.I dream of you.
Everything you say.
Everything you do.
Makes me dream of you.
I want to hold hands
And fill them again
With real life statues of
The soldiers of pain
And watch as they fall
The Victims of Love
I am the one on my knees
Burning the candle of love to the end
I dream of you.I dream of you.
Everything you say.
Everything you do.
Makes me dream of you.
I know you suspect my desires
Are just a flame in my heart
You think that my love will go over
The first heavy weather I see in your eyes...
