Also important to put 2 ets on ONE carabina, to avoid ' crowding ' of the carabiner that is clipped to the aid-point --- if each et has itz own carabina, then a terror-fying!!! jolt can occur when ya step-up, and weigh the aid-placement ...

The dreaded 'biner shift' responsible for fouling many a rookies pants is an endemic part of the game!
Although I use two sets of 2 etts arranged as you suggest, krab shift still occurs from time to time. I actually think I am used to it now; ... though a number 5 camalot skidding an inch lower than originally placed due to mank in the crack still gets my heart-rate going!

The #5 camalot placement that skidded was my best (and most enjoyable) move on the pitch.
Was leapfrogging it with a #4.5 and was doing a half free/aid move by topstepping a single foot in the lower ett (with same foot in the offwidth), while the other was free-flagged on the face; at the same time armbar hold in the offwidth (one handed) and with my free hand placing the #5 (with 2nd set of etts pre-attached) as high as I could. I knew the moss was there, ... and scratched the cam around to seat it through the moss, but when I committed to it, it skidded anyway!
I agree though that generally having different feet heights in uneven ett steps is a proverbial and (literal!) pain.

Aussie girls can stand to pee
January 20, 2005
From: AAP
'...WOMEN, rejoice! One of the last bastions of gender inequality is about to be banished and with it the long, long line for the ladies' loos.
And while it might not be every gal's cup of tea, the organisers of this year's Big Day Out concert in Melbourne reckon the girls-only urinal will get a standing ovation.
The Shee Pee, as its affectionately known in Europe, will make its Australian debut at this year's Melbourne event in a bid to cut loo queues and offer women a more hygienic option to conventional toilets.
And while organisers agree it might take some a little practice, they believe women will quickly adapt to the idea of peeing while standing.
"After the huge success of the female-only urinals at the Glastonbury music festival in Britain last year, we thought it was definitely a service that women at the Big Day Out in Melbourne would really appreciate," Big Day Out promoter Vivian Lees said.
The Shee Pees concept works thanks to a disposable, leak-proof paper funnel which gives women the freedom to stand.
The funnels can also be used to avoid sitting on conventional toilets, which will also be provided at Melbourne's Big Day Out.
The funnels, called P-Mates, are distributed in Australia by Small World Enterprises.
Company spokesman Kees de Jong said it was "simple to use" with pants, skirts and dresses, however P-Mate hostesses would be on hand to offer guidance where it was needed.
"The P-Mate is a convenient, hygienic, discreet solution to the long queues and other problematic circumstances which confront women...'
Like dying for a slash while standing in ets ? ...

the holes they have in the bottom of the overnight train carriages are good fun, and far more spacious than the bunks

Back in the "aussie apartheid" days of the 60's (showing my age !) I can remember that
the local indigenous ladies of my home town (Shepparton) were not allowed to drink in the "ladies lounge" & were banished to the "Main Bar". They were not allowed to use the
ladies loo either & which resulted in them having to "back up" to the gents trough (gush) which at the time was quite acceptable ! (No "shee pee" adaptors available then)
Steve :-)
PS : - Our local Climbing Gym = the 200ft Radio Masts @ Radio Australia which we climbed
according to which mast wasn't "live" at a given time. No harness, no sense !

On lengthy-time aid pitches I carry/use my tethered P-bottle (as used during the night when portaledging). Trousers with a fly help as well as no burrs on the fifi !
Tip: Be very careful not to confuse the P-bottle with the drink bottle; (though I have heard of mountaineers in extremise putting up with this 'inconvenience').

Obviously onsighting a route placing the gear is more of an achievement than red-pointing it with all the gear after ten days work and leading a bold route with no prior knowledge is more of an achievement than top roping in the shit out of it first but all of these things will only effect the individual concerned and they are all more valid forms of climbing than sitting at home in your arm chair whinging about what other people are doing (or writing heated posts to climbing forums for that matter)...

The belayer appreciates the leader carrying one on straight-up pitches also*.
