I read through the storm of letters last night. Gold I tells ya. For those not familiar, in about 94/95 Alan Barich from 'Team Rocko' wrote a letter to Rock Magazine suggesting that routes should be chipped so that you get climbs with jugs right where you want them, and that routes should be retro-bolted so there were no run-outs greater than 2 metres. Apparently this was common practice in Europe, and we should be doing it here in Australia. 'Team Rocko's' PE teacher at school thought this was a good idea. Alan was going to borrow dads drill and get to it. This started a very entertaining letter slanging match that lasted over a year and got quite personal! After reading enough trolling posts on Internet sites, its pretty obvious with hindsight that the letters were a (very succesful) satirical troll.
