'...Two Nepalese climbers were on top of the world this week - not only because they reached the top of Mount Everest but because they got married there in what was believed to be the first wedding on the summit.
It was a brief ceremony with no procession, champagne or band - only piles of snow and a breathtaking panorama for bride Moni Mulepati, 24, and groom Pem Dorjee, 23, as they exchanged their vows at 8,850 metres on Monday..."We were there only for 10 minutes, just enough for us to get married and our friends to take pictures of us," ...They briefly took off oxygen masks and donned plastic garlands while the groom put traditional red powder on the bride's forehead - for Nepalese the equivalent of exchanging rings...'

riding a surfboard down the Western Cwm (spelling??) WITHOUT dying, doesn't count if u lose control and end up at the bottom of a glacier, if that happens u can be the first person to be at the bottom of a glacier with a surfboard!!!!!!!!! ummm, having a close bonding session on the summit resulting in the downsuit birth 9 months later on another peak!!
hehe, plenty of other "firsts" to go!

'...Olympic Torch to Scale Mount Everest Before 2008 Beijing Games
June 3 (Bloomberg) -- The Olympic flame will be carried to the top of Mount Everest, the world's highest peak, as part of the torch relay for the 2008 Beijing Games.
Concerns about how to broadcast the climb and whether the torch would stay lit had held officials back from confirming a plan first mentioned in Beijing's bid to stage the Olympics.
Zhang Ming, the official in charge of the relay, said a test run by state broadcaster CCTV had satisfied organizers that the torch's journey up the 8,850-meter (29,035 feet) mountain could be televised live. Researchers were also satisfied the flame wouldn't be extinguished through lack of oxygen, she said.
Beijing organizers have said they plan to assemble a team of 60 to 80 climbers aged 18 to 23 to take the torch up the southern slope of Everest and descend down the northern slope...'
