A third? I was there early in the season and saw nothing but leashless tools - it was a veritable snake pit of BD Cobras and Vipers! In fact my gf and I felt a little backward what with our club gear, late 90s or early 00s Simond Najas and DMM Raptors, and me with Super 8s on my feet. The day that we did spend climbing leashless I was an instant convert though: it was so much easier to delay the pump - or avoid it - and place screws, cross hands if there was a good placement off centre, etc.
In terms of leashes, I took to leaving the Trac-Up leashes on the Najas uncinched, and found I could still hang in them comfortably, but got better circulation and didn't have to mess around to get a hand in or out. Not sure how similar they are to the current Trac-Up leashes. |
