if you limited yourself to arapiles for starters (enormous relatively safe fun to be had at the grades you speak of) and were a bit selective about what you headed up you could probably get started with a normalish set of nuts with a few additional smallish sizes, a few small to medium hexes, 1/2 a dozen quick draws, 1/2 a dozen slings, 1/2 a dozen spare carribeenas and a couple of screw gates. there is probably quite a few other things you could buy straight away and not regret. but if you are careful then get additions as you see you need them. coveting, buying then using gear you have selected for yourself can be more gratifying than many of us would care to admit.
