Self Jamming Pulley Efficiency |

This is my understanding,
Try to haul in "advantage" (pull the rope in the direction you want the load to travel).
The bigger the radius of the pulley the more efficient.
Nylon bushings and wheels deform quicker and under lesser loads.
i.e. if you use nylon bushed pulleys with small radii then you will have to work harder.
However it is not really that practical to carry a 4wding pulley just in case you need to haul someone/thing up a cliff.
