a guy i used to climb with, who moved north of the border got his girlfriend to make some. i think they were a relatively simple build. made out of leather with velcro around the wrist. they pretty much just protected the back of the hand. he swore by them, i never really got a close look at them, but lamented his joy of cracks when he put them on. maybe consider just making some.
