Hey James I actually saw that bag out at MEC's store in Montreal last week.
It seems to be a novel idea but is pretty heavy, (and packs real bulky from what the sales gal told me).
For versatility, have you considered this bag with a liner (link below)? That would be a -12c 100% down MEC bag + a liner to extend that to -18c or so (that would still weigh less than the Hybrid bag). From all in-store accounts, this -12c bag is quite conservatively rated, and sleeps slightly colder sleeping women at a few degrees lower, even.
Or, you could get the -12c bag + a DryLoft outer for the same final temp rating (plus a bit more versatility).
