Hi Jason, I generally use a Western Mountaineering Antelope MF Down bag (bit less than 2.5lbs, and though rated to -15c, it's quite comfortable to approx -22c (WM is pretty conservative about their bag ratings). As far as synthetics go, i've used a Wiggy's 3lb bag comfortably to about -5c or so; they're the only manufacturer that I know off who gives their synthetic insulation a lifetime warranty. Hope that helped.
