Hi All,
Just a question, how does everyone rate Black Diamond harnesses?
I've noticed they are really cheap and they have plastic clips at the rear that attach the leg loops to the waist belt? Like a backpack?
Does anyone use them and how do they perform?
Cheers

I've got one....haven't fallen out of it yet. Not sure what you mean by the plastic clips attaching the leg loops?

The plastic clips are not load bearing. The simply hold the rear of the leg loops at the desired height.
They are great harnesses and have a great range of models. The new petzl harnesses are worth a look, too.

The clips are so you can go to the tiolet whilst still wearing your harness safely - a very useful feature on
a big-wall.

I think you will find that alot of harnesses have some form of non-load bearing clip back there (although the petzl harnesses have a metal hook).

They are a sweet looking harness! I have been eye balling them myself but can't really justify getting one as my current BD harness is fine. I've gad a few BD harnesses and they are the duck's nuts!
It's a good price with the current exchange rate -$ 132 including shipping.
If you wanted to get one a little quicker, Pinnacle Sports in Qld has them for $142.

BD make good gear.
On the harnesses the rear leg-loop retainers are usually adjustable.
I have tried to wear out through usage one of their harnesses for many years now; ... without success!

Cheers all thanks for the info.
A few words to live by, well atleast minimising your exposure to danger then following the quote.
"Conventional wisdom says to know your limits.
To know your limits you need to find them first.
Finding your limits generally involves getting in over your head and hoping
you live long enough to benefit from the experience.
That’s the fun part".
