I have six Metolius cams and like them. I find the smaller sizes easy to get stuck if overcammed, but that's easily solved by placing the right size. They have a very smooth action and 'bite' very well. I have never had one fail on me so I guess that's a good thing. I don't recommend placing them or any cam horizontally in vertical cracks for obvious reasons. I guess if your partner is prepared to lead on a poorly placed cam that's his business, but I would think twice about lending your cams to him. My number 7? (light blue) Meltolius is pretty bent up by someone (me) doing that. It held though, which was a miracle. |
