I'm finally getting close to getting my hands on some crampons - looks like I'll be going with Grivel G12's.
I was originally thinking of going with toe & heel bail type ('cramp-o-matic') as I have plastic boots. After speaking to one of the stores today though it was suggested to me that the toe bail has been known to damage boot soles in the long run - especially if you take 5 kicks for every foot placement! Can anyone comment on this any further? Should I go with heel bail / toe cup instead? |
