What makes you feel they are cumbersome? To me cumbersome meens hard to use, I dont see why this would be so, also whats wrong with long stems? Whilst I'm at it I think people who whine about heavy cams are nancys, the extra gramms of one cam could easily be offset by leaving behing some other crap you no doubtedly take up every route you do and never use anyway.
