Gym mat for home woody

I'm pretty much finished building my Moonboard/woody. lt took way longer than I expected and had to deal with random problems (do anyone else's T-nuts fall out occassionally before they get screwed in for the first time?)

I've got a bouldering pad already which will get me by for a while but does anyone getting rid of an old gym mat?

Tbh I just use a single crash pad. you can use it bouldering too if you’re into that sort of thing. I also find that woodies are not really conducive to cranking super hard and falling off anyway, so it easily suits my needs.

Curious in your woodie design that makes it unconducive to cranking hard.

Hi Olbert,

I'm impressed you can stay awake long enough to build anything! Just don't fall on the baby!

If you put a dab of liquid nails or similiar next to the hole before hammering the tnuts in, they stay put pretty much forever. Just don't get it in the threads.

Now, go and take the bub for a walk. :-) Hey, and keep an eye out for one of those bouncy things you hang off doorways, great once they are a bit older to keep em happy while you boulder.

Two main things
1 Main thing is the brick wall that I could fall back into, ie the wall at my back when on the wall (it’s in a relatively narrow space). To maximize space it’s 45 Degrees, made with 2 panels or 1.2x2.4 builders board with about 80cm of roof. I’d be happy to fall off the lower half, but in the upper half, see above!

2 I’ve always seen it as a training tool - getting hurt training is something I’ve always tried to avoid (not always successfully, but now older and wiser!)

Fully acknowledge that with more space you could go plenty hard on a woody.

Blochaus is canberra just swapped out all their mats. There was a huge stack of foam in the dumpster there, free for all. Might want to check it's still there before driving down though.

Cheers for the responses. Despite being at Blochaus on Sunday evening, I failed to notice the new mats! I'll definitely check that out.

I must admit I had the help of my father in law - without him I would never have had the time to complete the project or confidence to complete the dodgy home renovations that were required.

I've been doing my part to help look after Seamus, not least because my partner keeps reminding me that he's my son too!

Does anybody else have the problem of maybe 5% of the Tnuts the thread is fcuked? That's been my biggest hassle - having to replace those with some pretty average access to the back.

Why not? Since Olbert will be spending more time training now having a wall at home than probably with family it might as well be named.
