Hi M9!
Simey mentioned this thread.
I handed off my loaner prototype Trapezium (a new frame design which I need tested) to Chris in Arapiles, he mentioned he was going to Buffalo, not sure if he is going to the aid fest though. I am hoping this new frame will prove to be the go for a larger order of tubes which will be built by Tufa Climbing in USA.
I have a D4 Alpine Double loaner and a D4 full size ledge here in Tas, but might be using them for an event in the Tarkine at the end of the month. When is the aid fest?
If any wall climbers coming to Tas, come visit my shop! I am in the process of transitioning out of my design phase of the past two years, and back hopefully to my teaching career, but still interested in working with crafty partners to help make some of these new designs. I have a good line on the aluminum frames and better materials from USA suppliers, and plan to still make a few more batches later this year in Tasmania (maybe Anna will help) but primary production of the D4 line is now being made in three shops in the USA (Durango Sewing Solutions, Runout Customs, and Tufa Climbing).
My main interest has been to foster this new paradigm in ledges, and I feel this is nearing completion with the shops in the USA. But still I imagine keeping enough materials on hand for a few prototypes, and also a new design (a whole new shape) I plan to keep tinkering on (as well as a radical new expedition tent design which has been rattling around my brain), so if any Aussie climbers need a ledge, let me know, and I will see what I can do. Deuce4@bigwalls.net best way to contact me!
Cheers and thanks for the good words! |
