I'm happy with the new Mammut Tusk I bought, but I don't know if its the go for your needs. It is a great sportclimbing rope for the price, but it does show wear from when, in a weak moment, I top roped a big bumbly bloke with it at the freezer (I cringed as he pendulumed the rope past iron stone edges on his 47th go at the move - won't be doing that again on the new rope). Perhaps see the Mammut site for alternatives which are thicker, with an edge rating.
