I am planning a first rope purchase. Basically I am thinking about a rope 60m, sharp-edge rated, relatively
lowish impact force, & doesn't handle like a roll of steel cable. Sheath weave change or other sort of
halfway marking would be a plus. Some sort of dry treatment would be cool but not mandatory. I like the
look of the beal flyer II, and maybe stirling marathon ultra or biathalon. other than that ????? Also, does it
really matter if a rope is 10.2 or 10.5 or 10.7 does that extra diameter really make a difference? I am
about 95kg in couch potato mode & maybe 5-9kg less when training regularly. I liked the specs of the
roca tasmania, but when I handled one in a shop it was stiff as a board.Budget prob $300ish, but staying
alive highly regarded, so will spend more if necessary. Can possibly get good deal on certain brands,
ultimately looking for the best rope for the bucks. What to do?
