All this may make a difference sport climbing (how many people will be sport climbing on frozen slings? Maybe Will Gadd in Helmcken Falls??). Climbing on removable protection brings way too many variables into the data for my mind. Climbing protection is not just about the single piece, but the system. I cannot think of too many situations where climbing with frozen gear you are going to worry about gear failure. Mountaineering presents anchor substrate failure as a more likely cause, ice climbing - substrate failure, big wall alpine - substrate/fatigue, Sport - equipment compatability/ user error. Meh

However, from a gear nerd point of view it is interesting, but nothing new.
Blue Water, Edelrid, and I think HB(??) did this stuff already back in the 80's(?)
