I have a Marmot. I wore it pretty much every day for 3 years (the UK is cold) and still use it most days, even if only to commute back and forth to work. Got it washed at the relevant down jacket washing establishments a few times, and it is still going super strong.

Super warm jacket, and very tough.

Visually, this is about the closest they appear to offer that is still on the market today;

Mine has reinforcements on the elbows too.

I am a big believer that you want a hood on your downie. It just isn't the same as wearing a jacket and a beanie. The wind and cold gets your neck and drives you mental.

I also think there is no point getting a downie that is only sort of warm. Instant and complete warmth is required.
