I had a similar situation with Mammut. my mate had a great Mammut rope, so i bought the same and mine was rubbish?? fuzzed up in no time, got soft spots very quickly. no idea why it happens. since then, haven't bought another mammut. had one sterling rope that was brilliant, and a mad rock rope that i still use, which is great. i suppose if i fall on a rope and don't die, it's done its job, so can't complain too much.
