I have a fairly new Tikka XP2 with the core battery - and have found it excellent. Have used it caving (set for maximum brightness) and recently on a long bushwalk - with a low brightness setting for a lot of use. The software works well - and allows you to change and apply the profiles and see the charge level of the core. You can also take out the core and use normal batteries if you like. I bought mine mail order from the states - I think from Moontrail, much cheaper than buying here, and with the current level of the aussie $..... Dave
