Have finally decided to re-enter the 20th Century and replace my long-lost mobile phone (we'll deal with the 21st Century down the track - no need to rush these things). Largely doing this so I can contact people while climbing ("Er, don't be mad, but I'll be a little late home... again") or try to link up with people who are already climbing. I assume the above still holds true - Telstra gives the best coverage in country/climbing areas (araps/macedon ranges/buffalo/tasmania etc)? Ditto phones: any particular models more hardy than others and do better at picking up weak signal?
