Yeah, as i said - its all pretty well defined for concrete, i'd just be interested to see how that compares in rock.
You're right tho that most people would just avoid placing a bolt where an edge failure might occur. Was just throwing a few more ideas into the forum; given that most bolting theory is hijacked from concrete anchoring technology i think its worthwhile knowing how comparable the two materials actually are.
