Offsets are awesome. Aliens were the bomb, but now they are gone off the shelves, Master Cams seem to do the job well. I've used them heaps in US granite, especially pin scars in the Valley. Used them in Oz plenty as well - handy, but generally not necessary, as others have mentioned. They frequently save your hide when aiding.
