Yeah, we used to all use these when I flew paragliders. For truely handsfree with no wind issues you can get a throat or skull mike which works by sensing the vibrations from your voice box. Pretty cool - we also have these at work - no earpiece, it sounds like there is a voice in your head. They can be strapped under your helmet. The basic ones, as discussed, use a push to talk button which can clip onto your shirt, this was you avoid the wind issues you get with VOX. I have a very small handheld CB with a earpiece and mike with VOX sitting in a box in my shed from my flying days - happy to sell if you want one!
