Used to do the same thing, M9, on an old, old double rope, doubled over, if you know what I mean -- two strands through the shunt -- but the stretch meant I was usually climbing back to where I came off. Hence the switch.
At the risk of hijacking my own thread, I'm about to have a go at this Browns Rd route. It's seriously overhanging, and therefore I'm not too confident about using the shunt. What would you recommend instead? |
