I've got the two different myo5's (head and belt mounted...shop got the price way wrong...even pointed it out to them but they wouldn't listen!) and am very happy with both. The halogen is heaps bright and tho it's probably not up to the quoted 100m, it's definitely pushing this. The 1W LEDs I've seen in action haven't been able to throw the same distance (but were close...maybe they've reached this now?). Putting the distance thing aside though, sometimes it really seems to be good to have the two different styles of light ie incandescent/halogen in addition to the LEDs. The LEDs are fantastic for 95% of the general route finding and sitting around camp, but sometimes the colour/contrast just isn't right and you pick more things up with the halo.

Now if you want REAL light, a lot of top gun European rogainers have some fancy arc-lamp setup that burn eyeballs at a kilometer. Might have to decide if you want a headtorch or a house thoguh. :)
