Both biners broke in the aluminum part of the gate that holds th hinge pin in. Both showed signs of corrosion, the fibrous fracture appearence might be corrosion of the matric revealing the cold drawn structure (flowlines) in the gate Dude! it's a sea cliff really, corrosion will continue to eat away any Al, then steel, biners
