Yeah it could be seen as poor taste. On the other hand, climbers owe it to the memory of those caught up in tragic accidents such as Chris Mann to debate and hopefully draw some sort of resolution on these sort of sensitive issues. What'd happen for example if the 'intricate placements' described on Beautiful Dreams' as described in the guidebook was intricate to the point any gear placement would pull on a major fall. I'm not saying that was the case, but if it was, how are you going to fix the problem to prevent a second accident. If the coroner found that was the case, then PV wouldn't just declare the climb dangerous, but the whole cliff - and would ban climbing until the problem was fixed - that's the tenet of what happened at Hanging Rock and that's why we need to discuss these matters.
