You're probably referring to Bryden Allen, one of Australia's best ever climbers, who was confined to a wheel chair after a fall at Araps. On topic I've had two groundfalls, one resulting in a dislocated shoulder and another of several metres (6?) which I walked away from. The Latter fall was from the top pitch of illych at Lockleys Pylon at the start ogf the pitch before I had placed any pro. Luckily I landed on a sloping dirt ledge.
